It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Bowden of Linden, North Carolina, who passed away on December 2, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, may Betty find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
She was predeceased by: her parents, B. F. Hamilton and Adel Hamilton. She is survived by: her husband Thurman Bowden; and her children, Debra Shaffer, Brenda Harkenreader, Teresa Bryant, Anthony Bowden and Ronnie Bowden. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; her sisters; a large extended family; and many friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin (904 Lucas St, Erwin, NC 28339). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hair's Chapel Freewill Holiness Church (3075 Duck Pond Rd, Linden, NC 28356).
