He was predeceased by: his parents, William Moss Maxwell and Ruth Honeycutt Maxwell; and his brothers, Larry and Jesse "Bob" Maxwell. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Rhyne Maxwell; his children, William Maxwell, Jr. (Donna), David Maxwell (Wanda) and Lisa Sampson (Tony); and his brother Vernon Maxwell (Myra). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
