He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marvin Alvin Houser and Hester Ellen Eller Houser; his wife Virginia Houser; his sons, Wayne Houser (Vickie) of Lincolnton, Kirk Houser (Melissa) of Asheville and Stacy Houser (Angie) of Lincolnton; and his sisters, Martha Houser of Lincolnton and Bobbie Wilkinson of Maiden. He was also cherished by 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County.
