She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Lester Sain and Clida Leona Houser Sain; her husband Bobby Stowe Carpenter; her former husband William Dorus Hartsoe; and her daughter Cindy Hartsoe Martin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tamera Hartsoe Smith (Henry) of Hickory and Rebecca Hartsoe Smith (Chad) of Vale; her stepson Scott Carpenter (Lisa) of Cherryville; her grandchildren, Mandy, Julie Cloninger, Michael Martin, Dylan Smith, Callie Fisher, Camille Jenkins and Nathan Carpenter; and her great grandchildren, Braxton Carpenter, Klaus Carpenter and Josie Carpenter.
