He was predeceased by: his parents, Pledger Ray and Erlene Baker Ray. He is survived by: his wife Carol Proctor Ray; his children, Tommy Richard Ray, Jr. (Michelle) of Lincolnton and Melody Collier; his grandchildren, Colin Ray, Justin Ray, Samuel Collier and Chelsea Collier; and his stepson Ronald Barger (Misty) of Florida. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
