Samuel Boyce Brown and Laura Alexander Brown; his wife Annie Emehel Brown; his sons, Perry Brevard Brown of Charlotte, NC, Clement Emehel (Shawana) of Burlington, NC, Johneric Emehel (Toni) of Charlotte, NC and Terry Emehel of Denver, NC; his grandchildren, Tressica Wallace, Jessica Wallace (Theodore), Paris Brown, Xavier Brown, Chloe Emehel, Bryson Emehel, Madison Emehel, Morgan Emehel and Grace Emehel; his great grandchildren, Isaiah Wallace, Brie Wallace and Langston Wallace; his sisters, Sarah Brown Adams of St. Charles, MD and Helen Brown Rivers of Huntersville, NC.; his siblings-in-law, Ann Sherrill of Charlotte, NC, Doris Sherrill of Bloomfield, NJ, Gwen Parker of Winston-Salem, NC, Bevelyn Sherrill of Huntersville, NC. and Terry Sherrill (Gloria) of Charlotte, NC.; his goddaughters, Latra Reid (Alfonso) of Charlotte, NC and Dr. Camille Adams Jones (Jerome) of Bowie, MD.; and his brother Jerry Johnson (Libby) of Charlotte, NC.. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorial contributions be made to The Society of St. Andrews, where Sylvester Brown served for over eight years making a difference to end hunger.
