She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jean B. Downing and Carl L. Downing; her son Kevin Lyron Nickens; her friend Theodore Nelson (Teddy); her stepchildren, Matthew H. Hall, Mark A. Hall and Nya Hinton; her husband Charles P. Hall; her daughter Nicole S. Nelson; her granddaughter Nyshia Nickens; her aunt Judy Shell; her siblings, Michael Downing and Gina Medina; and her siblings-in-law, Sheree Hall Deal, Yolanda Hall Miller, Phillip Hall, Larry Deal and Antonio Miller. She was also cherished by aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins, in-laws and friends.
Several years of finding herself and re-establishing her foundation for herself and her two children, she began working at New York Law School.
