It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Maxine Whitesides Pilkington of Lincolnton, North Carolina, born in Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on August 11, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene Julius Pilkington; her parent Tate Allran Whitesides; her son Andy Caldwell Pilkington; her father Gilbert Whitesides; and her siblings, Inez Mosteller, Nancy Whitesides, Jimmy Whitesides, Charles Whitesides and Robert Whitesides.
She is survived by: her sons, Randy Eugene Pilkington (Kathy) and Julius Lynn Pilkington (Ann); her brother Gene Whitesides (Lib); and her grandchildren, John Pilkington (Jaimee), Mark Pilkington, Noah Pilkington, Joshua Pilkington (Torie), Rachel Pilkington, Kristy Copeland (Lance) and Brittani Medina (Edmond). She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
