It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Jean Whitman Taylor (Lincolnton, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on January 5, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Garland Whitman and Hattie Starkey Whitman; her husband John Walter Taylor, Jr.; her siblings, Buck Starkey, Joann Hepler, Frances Jones and Hazel Leguire; and her granddaughter Christy Reeves.

She is survived by: her sons, Steven Taylor, Jr. of Supply, NC and Ricky W. Taylor of High Shoals. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
