He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lloyd "Pete" and Avis Heavner Cornwell; and his wife Candence "Candi" Propst Cornwell. He is survived by: his daughters, Suzanne Turner (Mike) of Vale and Shannon Austin (Steve) of Denver, NC; his grandchildren, Hunter Turner of Vale, Hannah Turner of Vale and Halle-Grace Devine of Denver, NC; his siblings, Mickey Cornwell of Charlotte and Sally Cornwell of Oak Island; his mother-in-law Linda Propst; and his nephews, Cale Cornwell, Kyle Cornwell Canine and Bailey.

Memorials may be made to Shriners for Kids.
