He is survived by: his significant other Peggy Sue Gibson; his children, Marci Ann and Casey Calaway; his son-in-law Matt Baker; his father Charlie Calaway Sr.; his stepmother Shelby; his mother Janice Thompson; his stepfather Robert Thompson; his grandchildren, Marci, Nolen, Landon and Paisley; and his great grandchild Jared Eaves.

The family requests that donations be made to the Robin Johnson House c/o Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
