He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Howard Chaney and Katrena Chaney; and his daughter Christina Chaney. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Causby Chaney; his daughters, Katrina Cloninger (John) of Mt. Pleasant and April Lehman (Walt) of Burlington; and his grandchildren, Autumn Hedspeth, Nate, Owen Lehman, Hailey, Devyn, Tori and Chloe Cloninger. He is also survived by four brothers.
