He was predeceased by: his parent Orie Eva Byrd; his sons, Ricky Gene Byrd and Ralph James Byrd; and his grandson Patrick Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Linda Dellinger Byrd; his sons, Alan Byrd (Lenora) of Iron Station, Jeff Byrd of Lincolnton and Kevin Byrd (Beth) of Iron Station; and his grandchildren, Alicia, Brandon, Jessica, Nikki, Elliot, Katelyn and Heather. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
