He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest J. Ward and Annie W. Ward of Edenton, NC.; his daughter Pamela Driver; and his brothers, Ernest J. Ward, Jr. and John Ward.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Crenshaw Ward; his sons, Michael Ward (June) of Clayton and Timothy Ward (Kim) of Lincolnton; his brother Eugene Ward (Katie) of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Amanda Dengler (Jonathan), Emily Ashcraft (James), Austin Ward (Nia), Stephen Ward (Stephanie), Daniel Ward (Lauren), Jessica Evans (Andrew) and David Ward (Hannah); and his son-in-law Eugene Driver. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
