She was predeceased by: her parents, James Monroe Grant and Leona Mode Byers; her husband Rev. Bobby "Bob" Ray Cook, Sr.; and her children, Bobby Ray Cook Jr., Mitchell Gregory Cook and Barbara Lee Edmondson.

She is survived by: her children, Samuel Cook of Lincolnton, Cynthia "Cyndy" Sherrill (Ron) of Newton and Debora "Deb" Harkey (Ernie) of Lincolnton; her sister Doris Bennett (Clark) of Hull, GA.; her grandchildren, Candy Grooms, Jennifer Burgin, Ben Harkey, Heather Cook, Bobby Cook III, Beverly Shires, Jason Cook, Becky Smith, Matt Cook and Greg Cook; and her great grandchildren, Dillon Staton, Brittany Grooms, Alyssa Sronce, Abi Harkey, Isaiah Hill, Naveah Cook, Kayden Cook, Madden Cook, Caleb Shires, Layne Smith and Zachary Smith.
