She was predeceased by: her father Howard Jefferson Polk; and her husband Charles Edwin Ward Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Charles E. Ward, Jr. of Crouse, Mark Ward of Lincolnton, Trevor Ward of Maiden, Diane Colon of Monroe, Donna Kaal of Crouse and Audrey Ward of Maiden; and her siblings, Dwight Lester Polk (Carolyn) of Lenoir, Peggy Sheets (Eugene) of Charlotte, Mary Glen Blackman of Stanley and Patricia Ward of Iron Station. She is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
