He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wray Heafner and Corine Huss Heafner; his wife Norma Crump Heafner; and his brother William David "Bill" Heafner. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Heafner of Lincolnton and Darrin Heafner (Jodi) of Lincolnton; his girlfriend Glenda Fox; his grandchildren, Savanna Sipe (Lucas) of Maiden, Tyler Heafner, Blake Heafner of Lincolnton and Chandler Harrison of Vale; and his sister Ann Abee of Lincolnton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
