He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Junior Burgess and Ruby Faye Ward Burgess; and his siblings, Jerry Burgess and Brenda Burgess. He is survived by: his sons, John C. Burgess (Amy) of Morganton and Adam Burgess of Marion; his brothers, Michael Burgess of Maiden and Robert Burgess of Denver; and his grandchildren, Marlee Burgess and Harper Burgess.
