He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Dewitt and Verlie Mae Queen Houser; his wife Mary Ramsey Houser; his daughter Kathy Houser Ledbetter; his grandchildren, Michael Ledbetter and Angel Leatherman; and his siblings, Helen Long, Libby Smith, Grace Lovelace and Lloyd David Houser.
He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Wyont (Steve) of Lincolnton and Donna Leatherman (Pat) of Vale; his son-in-law Jeff Ledbetter (Tracy) of Lincolnton; his daughter Cassandra Elmore; his grandchildren, Jason Boyles, Johnathan Leatherman, Jalin Leatherman, Stephanie Campbell and Chris Wyont; his great grandchildren, Jayden Leatherman, Jaylise, Katie, Gracie, Clay, Jacob, Liam, Sadie and Nola; and his siblings, J. D. Houser of Bostic, Henry Houser of Lincolnton, Clinton Houser of Delaware, OK, Walt Houser of Lincolnton and Ethel Propes of Bostic.
