He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Libby" Lackey Beard; his children, Brian Beard (April) of Lincolnton and Casey Auton (Chip) of Crouse; his grandchildren, Caleb Beard, Easton Beard, Cayleigh Auton and Cambrey Auton; and his brother-in-law Dennis Canipe of Lincolnton. He is also survived by numerous aunts, nieces, and a nephew.
