He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Delbert Bowers and Callie Mae Bowers; his wife Charlene Scholl of Charlotte; his daughters, Christine Bowers Thomas (William) of Cherryville and Patricia Bowers Carpenter (John) of Lincolnton; his grandchildren, Crystal Haas (Dayson), Jennifer Thomas, John Carpenter III (Catherine), Anna Marie Gilbert (Jeremy) and Emily Dobbins (Jacob); and his great grandchildren, Dayson Cole Haas, John Michael Haas, Lindsey Carpenter, Rachel Gilbert Jonah Dobbins and Hank Dobbins.
