He is survived by: his children, Bill Fortenberry (Kim) of Lincolnton and Pam Smith (Steve) of Lincolnton; his brother Walt Fortenberry of Lincolnton; his grandchildren, Kylie (Jeffrey), Adam, Lacey, Kelsey Fowler (Eian) and Ethan (Kayla); and his great grandchild McCoy Fowler. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
