He is survived by: his son Darin Tate (Angie) of Lincolnton; and his grandchildren, Drew Smith, Sean Smith, Amy Cricket Aderhold, Colby Long, Sydnie Tate, Saylor Tate and Xander Tate. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
