He was predeceased by: his father Harold Holden; his son Anthony Holden; and his niece Jenna Simianer. He is survived by: his mother Jenna Sue Brown Holden of Stanley, NC; his wife Evelyn Holden; his son Matthew Holden; his stepson Jason Harrelson (Kellie) of Lincolnton, NC; his sisters, Pamela Hill (Greg) of Dallas, NC and Karen Taylor of Supply, NC; and his grandchildren, Caitlyn Harrelson, Jordan Harrelson, Ashton Harrelson, Addison McCurley, Ava McCurley and Anthony McCurley.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Warlick Funeral Home (125 Dave Warlick Dr, Lincolnton, NC 28092). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (2858 NC-150, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
