Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Henry Erson Whitener Jr. (Lincolnton, North Carolina), who passed away at the age of 90, on October 15, 2023. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Erson Whitener, Sr. and Lois Clary Whitener; his wife Kay Chandler Whitener; and his children, Joan Van Dusen, Henry Erson Whitener, III and Eric Whitener.

He is survived by: his daughter Lee O'Malley (John) of Matthews; his grandchildren, Chris O'Malley (Rebecca) of Charlotte, Mark O'Malley of Huntersville, Erin Taylor of Colorado and Taylor Weese of Charlotte; his brother Dan Whitener (Linda) of Huntersville; and his brother-in-law Dr. D. C. Chandler (Winborne) of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society, PO Box 23, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
