George Lionel LaFave Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Lionel LaFave of Lincolnton, North Carolina, born in Clinton, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 31, 2024 at the age of 77. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lionel Joseph LaFave and Ida Mae Cook LaFave; his brother Patrick LaFave; and his in-laws, Roland and Ruby GoKey.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Ann GoKey LaFave; his children, Lonnie Alan LaFave (Jill) of Charleston, SC. and Valorie Ann Giff (Tim) of Advance, NC.; his brothers, James LaFave (Cathy), Wesley LaFave, Marshall LaFave and Russell LaFave (Linda); his brothers-in-law, Francis GoKey (Mary Lou), Larry GoKey (Pam) and Gary GoKey (Rachel); his sisters, Evelyn McGill (Patrick), Grace Griffin (Dale), Rose Andrews (Bruce) and Lucy Wood (Leo); his sister-in-law Betty Loker (Richard); and his grandchildren, Derek LaFave, Brooke O'Brien, Benjamin LaFave, Trevor O'Brien, Noah LaFave and Wyatt Giff. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that monetary donations be made to the family for the support of masses to be offered in memory of George.
