He was predeceased by: his parents, James Andrew Pilkey and Haley Hord Pilkey; his son Andy Pilkington; and his sister Irene Blanton. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Maxine Whitesides Pilkington; his sons, Randy Pilkington (Kathy) of Belmont, N. C. and Julius Lynn Pilkington (Ann) of Matthews, N. C.; his brother Charlie Pilkey of Gastonia, N. C; and his grandchildren, Rachel Pilkington, Kristy Copeland (Lance), Brittani Medina (Edmond), John Pilkington (Jaimee), Mark Pilkington, Noah Pilkington and Joshua Pilkington (Torie). He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Eugene's life will be planned after the threat of the COVID-19 Pandemic has passed.
