He was predeceased by: his mother Phyllis Walling Garrison; and his brother Robert Garrison. He is survived by: his father David C. Garrison; his siblings, Charles Garrison (Delores), Janette Rhoney (George) and Sharon Dobey (Kent); and his nieces and nephews, Brian Rhoney, Ben Rhoney, Mark Rhoney, Matthew Garrison, Sarah Trexler, Leah Savastano and Lauren Miller Nickerson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba County Humane Society.
