He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob "Jake" Craig Sain and Jessie Powell Sain; his sister Shirley Hoyle (Ervin); and his nephew Kevin. He is survived by: his wife Ester Ardenia Hovis Sain; his grandchildren, Justin Wallace, Seth Wallace, Noah Moss, Rachel Auwater, Macie Drum and Mallory Drum; his great grandchildren, Luke Auwater and Eva Auwater; his brother Gene Sain (Judy); his nieces, Anita, Linda and Barbara; his nephew Steven "Steve" Hoyle; and also, Janet Shepard of Lincolnton, Rebecca Moss (Rick) of Bessemer City, Meleah Heavner (Christopher "Chris") of Iron Station and Connie Drum (Bryan) of Lincolnton.
