He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Smith and Lena Martin Smith. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Deaton Smith; his children, Marty Smith of Maiden and Kelly Hoyle of Lincolnton; his siblings, Rick Smith of West Lincoln, Eddie Smith of Hudson and Marie Smith of Lincolnton; and his grandchildren, Lacy Barker of Winston-Salem and Seth Smith of Lincolnton. He is also survived by 17 Great-Grandchildren.
