He was predeceased by: his father Herman Franklin Smith; and his brother Ronnie Smith. He is survived by: his wife Jerri Smith; his children, Bunny Ingle (Mark) of Lincolnton, Chad Smith (Natalie) of Lincolnton, Natalie Wise (Donnie) of Mooresville and Brad Smith of Charlotte; his brother Steve Franklin Smith of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Heather, Cora, Seth, Megan, Breyden, Brooke, Bryce, Evan, Bailee and Luke. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
