She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore R. Smith and Veda D. Burt Smith. She is survived by: her husband John Raymond McCarthy; her children, Christy Wilson (Robby) of Bessemer City and John McCarthy, Jr. of Morganton; her siblings, Theodore Smith (Teddy), Johnny Smith, Thomas Smith (Tommy), Kathleen Schultz, Sylvia Estabrook and Anna Bonneau; her grandchildren, Kasi and Lucas; her great grandchildren, Breea, Tristan and Chandler; and her sister-in-law Cheri Pruitt. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
