He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Laster and Carrie Thacker Laster; his son Terry "Peanut" Laster; and his granddaughter Crystal Harrison. He is survived by: his children, Lynn Evans of Lincolnton, Jerry Laster (Wendy) of Thomasville, James "Jabo" Laster of Pickens, SC and Keith Laster (Jessica) of High Shoals; his stepchildren, Richard Wells (Edna) of Kannapolis, Garry Wells of Shelby and Sherry Wells of Lincolnton; and his sister Brenda Sprouse of Spartanburg, SC. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great–great-granchildren.
