He was predeceased by: his parents, Willoughby Thomas Spence, Jr. and Lucille Estelle Harris Spence. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lane Spence; his children, James Alton (Melinda Allen Spence) of Angier, NC and Lisa Spence Sells (Ronald Leslie Sells II) of Clermont, FL; and his granddaughters, Tiffany Spence Boyd (Joshua William Boyd) of Clayton, NC and Leslie Sells McMillan (Wyatt Bray McMillan) of Oakland, FL. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
