He was predeceased by: his parents, Needham Vann and Betty Mae Guy Vann; his wife Martha Nell Vann; and his siblings, Percy, Billy "Doll" Vann, Lizzie Mae "Boots" Matthews, Ruby Lee Fish, Faye Johnson and Marjorie Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Terry Lynn Vann of Lillington, Sheila Vann Byrd (Terry) of Lillington and Kimberly Vann of Lillington; his grandchildren, Stephanie Lee Brunson, Danielle Carmen Lee, Shawna Michelle Adams and Christy Nell Sterbenz-Lee; his great grandchildren, Rullaman, Jordan Wellington, Riley, Chandler Adams, Tate and Madyson Lee; and his sister Betty Connell of Linden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
