He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sr. Carawan and Mary Carawan; and his son Timmy Carawan. He is survived by: his wife Della P. Carawan; his children, Derek Carawan (Ellen) of Raleigh, Kim Ferguson (Joe) of Middleburg, FL and Dodie Boyles (Joe) of Fuquay-Varina; his brother Bobby Carawan (Judy) of Grantsboro; and his grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Derald, Jessi, Parker, Christina, Patrick, Alec, Cooper, Noah and Marlo. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Rock of Zion OFWB Church, PO Box 381, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
