With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Penelope Senter Bethune of Lillington, North Carolina, who passed away on September 5, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Aaron Senter and Vida Lee Peed Senter; her husband Marvin "Mel" Lester Bethune II; her daughter Ann Mewborn; and her sisters, Mary Frances Kear and Lydia Langdon.
She is survived by: her sons, Les Bethune (Ginger) of Atlanta, GA, John Bethune (Jennifer) of Lillington, NC and Scott Bethune (Hollis) of High Point, NC; her son-in-law John Mewborn of Lillington, NC; her grandchildren, Mel Bethune (Kayla), Reed Bethune, Grey Bethune (Courtney), Willie Bethune, Will Bethune, Walker Bethune, Jake Bethune, Cameron Mewborn and Jay Mewborn; her stepgrandchildren, Walker and Lexi; her stepgreat-granddaughter Oakley; and her siblings, David Senter (Deborah) of Raleigh, Ida Carol Wilson of Clinton, NC and Susan Worrell (Steve) of Lillington, NC. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
