He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Cummings and Girtha Cummings; his grandson Ryan Eatmon; and his close friend Joyce Moore. He is survived by: his daughters, Dana Cummings Eatmon of Lillington and Kristye Cummings Stewart (Chris) of Cameron; his grandchildren, Jordan Cummings, Devyn Eatmon, Camdyn Eatmon and Mason Lawson; and his siblings, Freddie Cummings (Marian), Eddie Cummings (Jennifer) and Jewel Harrington (Pat). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
