She was predeceased by: her husband Marvin Arthur Gies; and her siblings, Maydell Hatley, Ann Marie Emig, Wyatt Ausley, Doyce Ausley, Sam Ausley and Elbert Ausley.
She is survived by: her children, David Collier Gies of Fort Mill, SC and Jayme Gies of Lillington, NC; her grandchildren, Amanda Gleason (Joey) of David Gies, II, Austin Luke Chapman and Jenna Grace Chapman; and her sister Mary Jones of Southport, NC. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
