It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hughie Elwood Newton (Lillington, North Carolina), who passed away on September 8, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin C. Newton and Iva Wester Newton; his wife Frances Newton; and his brother John Carlton Newton. He is survived by: his siblings, Joyce Bruce of Clayton, Linda Young of Angier, Wayne Newton of Buies Creek and David Newton of Buies Creek; and his pets, Jackson and Gunter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
