It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hugh McDonald of Lillington, North Carolina, who passed away on July 6, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Hawley McDonald and Susan McDonald; his siblings, Ishmael McDonald and Willie Lou Gilchrist; and his former wife Nell Black.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa McDonald (Eric Grundstrom) and Susan McDonald Sigfrit (Rich Sigfrit); his grandchildren, Eli, Colin McDonald, Jonathan, Echo and Aaron Sigfrit; and his nieces, Linda Taylor, Carol Johnson and Nancy Gilchrist.
If you would like to honor him, his favorite organizations were Meals on Wheels, the Food Bank of Harnett County, and Food is Free Bay Area (which was started by a friend of his during the pandemic).
