He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary James Manning Sexton; his siblings, Billy Sexton, Jim Sexton, Coll Sexton and Kathryn Sexton Edgerton; and his stepmother Esther Secrest Sexton.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Upchurch Sexton; his daughters, Joan Sexton Campbell (Jack) and Andrea Thomas; his grandchildren, John Frederick Campbell (Jay), Madison Sexton and Tripp Thomas; his siblings, Tommy Sexton, Elizabeth Sexton Earp and Ruth Sexton Rich; his sisters-in-law, Lona Manning Howser, Janie Ruth Manning and Virginia Upchurch Herring; his friend William Mangum; and his pet Coco. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
