He was predeceased by: his parents, Mazie Pope and Floyd Pope; his wife Dorothy Secrest Pope; and his granddaughter Kristina Pope. He is survived by: his children, Dallas Harris Pope and Jannette Elizabeth Evans (Tom Evans); his grandchildren, Chris Evans (Paula Evans), Kim McDonald (Jeff McDonald), Melissa Suits (Alex Suits) and Dallas Pope; his great grandchildren, Sydney, Kayla, Kaleb, Landon, Joseph, CJ, Jake, Avery, Colton, Serena and Dallas; and his brother Howard Pope.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to the Lillington Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
