She was predeceased by: her parents, Jody Whittington and Rena Williams Whittington; her husbands, Thomas "Tommy" Morgan Matthews and Shaw Fish; her son Mickey Matthews; her siblings, Garland Whittington, Stacy Whittington, Fonzer Whittington, Agatha McLamb, Preston Whittington, Philip Whittington, Billy Whittington and Marie Honeycutt; and her granddaughter-in-law Laura Yarbrough.
She is survived by: her children, Gloria Yarbrough (Jerry) of Buies Creek, Tony Matthews (Debbie) of Dunn and Sherry Rice (Jerry) of Star; her grandchildren, Jason Yarbrough (Christie), Jody Yarbrough, Morgan Matthews, Allison Matthews, Matthew Rice and Aaron Rice; her great grandchildren, Jackson Yarbrough, J. T. Yarbrough, Ashton Yarbrough and Cash Yarbrough; and her brother McKinley Whittington (Margaret) of Coats. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Lillington Baptist Church (210 W Lofton St, Lillington, NC 27546). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
