It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Ray Strickland of Lillington, North Carolina, who passed away on April 14, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Glenda Faye Royal; his son Mark Ray Strickland; his stepson Jack Wilson; his parents, Annie Strickland and Shelby Strickland; and his brothers, Walton "Mac" Strickland and James Strickland.

He is survived by: his daughter Billie Dawn Lowery (Brandon) of Raiford, FL; his stepdaughter Tammy Bell of Dunn; his grandchildren, Summerlyn Byrd (Andrea) of Raiford, FL, Alyssa Byrd of Raiford, FL and Ethan Cole of Raiford, FL; and his sisters, Shirley Cannady of Dunn, Helen Barbour of Goldsboro, Jean Benson of Lillington and Deloit Strickland of Virginia Beach, VA.. He is also survived by many other step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
