She was predeceased by: her parents, David Willard Johnson and Bernetta Brown Johnson; her husband Thomas Ruffin Brown Jr.; and her siblings, Douglas Johnson and Celia Melvin.
She is survived by: her children, Tom Brown (Faye), Ruffin Brown (Virginia) and Marsha Falkner (Macy); and her sister Carolyn King (Maurice). She is also survived by six grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
