He was predeceased by: his parents, Arleigh Henry Shields and Hazel Mildred Vanscoy Shields; his brothers, William, Kenneth, Richard and Jack Shields; and his daughter Ena LaDon Riggs of Blytheville, AR..
He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda Dale Shields of Blytheville, AR, Tonya Kay Sharp of Lillington, Sonya Renee Elliott and Natasha Lynn Young of Belton, MO; his grandchildren, Damian Arrieta of Kansas City, MO, James Dale Alexander McPherson of Lillington, Ryan Taylor Sharp of Lillington, Alex Dale Sharp of Lillington and Amanda Nicole Young of Belton, MO; and his sisters, Barbara Grover of Wheeling, WV and Karen Kirby of Moundsville, WV.. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
