He is survived by: his wife Thomasina Smith Spencer; his sons, Vincent Lee Spencer of Lilesville, Red Springs of Lilesville and Shawn Emil Spencer of Lilesville; his granddaughters, Amber Spencer Singleton (Willie) of Rockingham and Chyna Spencer of Rockingham; his great grandchildren, Jared Singleton and Loraile Singleton; his siblings-in-law, Marie Smith, Linda L. Smith, Joe F. Smith (Cha), Ratcliff, Richard Smith, Charlotte, Hampton O. Smith (Karen) and Rockledge; and also, Aunts, Uncle, Margaret Grace Spencer and Alexander Spencer, Jr..
