He is survived by: his wife Frances Carolyn McRae Downer; his children, Robert "Bob" Downer, Jr. (Tracie) of Jefferson, NC, Jerry Downer of Marion, NC and Patricia Seago (John) of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Jacob Downer (Lucia) and Mary Katheryn Downer; and his sister Sandra Freeman (Donnie) of Williamsport, MD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
