He is survived by: his parent Fannie Mae Eddins Gathings; his wife Deborah Benton Gathings; his daughter Karen Grantham; his son-in-law Kenny Grantham of Lilesville; his grandson Joshua Grantham of Lilesville; his siblings, Mary Virginia Bowers Dinkins of Winston-Salem, Sara Jones of Kannapolis, Helen Miller of Greenville and Merle Gathings of Yadkinville; and his brother-in-law Jill Trammell (Bill).
